Mission Impossible: Fallout – Film Review

Tom Cruise is essentially ‘the last action hero’ as nobody does their own stunts like he does. When I first heard about Mission Impossible: Fallout, I had found out and seen footage on how he broke his foot doing one of his own stunts and then attempted to keep going with the scene. I had thought, “That’s insane!” but this is only the cusp of the passion and effort that Cruise invests into his films.

Mission Impossible: Fallout is the 6th consecutive film in the Tom Cruise series and is quite possibly the best one yet. When an old enemy rears his ugly head, putting the world at risk again, Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt is back in the field doing the most, whether it be jumping out of a plane or dodging bullets. While the protagonists were predictable, I didn’t care because the storyline and action scenes were so entertaining that the film kept me on the edge of my seat with my hands switching from over my face to on my head the whole time. The film is exhilarating and anxiety inducing, but in a good way.

Tom Cruise is incredible. Considering he learnt to fly a helicopter just for this film, I would say impressive is an understatement. Accompanied by a talented case with the likes of Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, Michelle Monaghan and Alec Baldwin, you will not be disappointed. So, what are you waiting for? Your mission should you choose to accept it – is to see Mission Impossible: Fallout in cinemas now.
