Super Mario Odyssey High Tea at The Langham – Gaming Related Review

Now, I for one am not much of a foodie. In fact, I had never been to a high tea before. But when I heard about Melba Restaurant at The Langham’s Super Mario Odyssey High Tea, I leaped at the opportunity to try it.

Upon entering the restaurant, tables were set out with Mario hats, with colouring sheets to available for the children. Usually themed high teas are only for the little ones, but this is the first time The Langham are offering the young and young at heart to order from the same menu.

The Super Mario Odyssey High Tea menu consisted of the following:

• Gold coin cupcakes
• Toad mushroom macaron
• Mystery Block lamington
• Power Moon cookie
• Princess Peach muffin
• Cappy toastie
• Cucumber ribbon sandwiches
• Ham and cheese sandwich
• Raspberry cordial
• Hot chocolate

When the three-tier treat was presented, the food didn’t seem like much but was extremely tasty and filling. I even had to pack and take some cupcakes home since I couldn’t finish my servings. After I was done, I wanted to head home and have a nap, I was that satisfied.

The service at the Melba Restaurant was also impeccable. Everyone seemed genuinely friendly and ready to help you. The restaurant does buffet lunches and dinners too so I’ll be sure to return to check those meals out.

The pricing for the Super Mario Odyssey High Tea is $39 per child, $49 if you would like take-home Mario cap. For adults, it’s $59 per person which includes espresso coffee, leaf tea and a glass of sparkling wine. For $69, you can have the same but with an additional take-home Mario cap.

The Super Mario Odyssey High Tea is only available at Melba Restaurant, The Langham on weekdays from December 28th, 2017 to January 31st, 2018. They have two seating sessions, 10am sitting (concludes at 11:30am) or the midday sitting (concludes at 2pm). I attended the midday sitting and opted for the adult pricing with the take-home Mario cap.

Whether you’ve grown up playing the Nintendo Super Mario game series like myself, or you want to take the little one for a friendly treat, I would highly recommend attending this. Although I was new to the experience, I thoroughly enjoyed my first ever high tea and it’s made this geek really full and very happy.
