Naoko Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon is a huge part of my childhood. It helped cement my love for Japanese anime, manga, space, and girl power. So, it’s hard imagine that this wonderful franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. To celebrate, Vans has a collaboration and has recently dished out some wonderful merch for all ages.
Dropping in Australia on Sailor Moon‘s birthday (June 30th, fellow Cancarian, happy birthday sis), an assortment of shoes and accessories have been released, including platform high top shiny boots that I have successfully nabbed, and a Luna style beanie. What I love about this collection is that there are fun, funky styles for both adults and kids alike.
While many of the shoes have disappears since, it is absolutely worth checking the website frequently to see if your shoe size is back in stock, if you have your heart set on a shoe style. This happened to me, and days later I checked back and currently have a new pair in my size on the way. There are also plenty of other items including hoodies, jumpers and super cute colourful backpacks. The adult shoes are also unisex, so there really is something for everyone.
With the items I have received, including the platform high tops, they’re all fantastic quality and wonderfully designed to the point that I can’t even believe they have this kind of merchandise for adults. Usually I’m used to falling in love with something clothing wise and then being heartbroken after discovering the item is only in kids sizes. But not anymore and not with this wonderful collaboration!
Vans doesn’t have a warehouse per se, so stock in the stores is exactly the same as the stock shown online. Not all the designs and styles have been released in Australia yet either, so it is worth noting that there will be plenty more of Vans X Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon merchandise on the way in the not too distant future.
