AC/DC’S POWER UP TOUR SETS NEW RECORD FOR BIGGEST
SINGLE-DAY CONCERT SALES IN TICKETEK HISTORY!
FINAL PERTH SHOW ON SALE AT 11AM (local time) TODAY!
In a massive response from fans to last Thursday’s AC/DC POWER UP Tour on-sale, promoter Christo Van Egmond of TEG Van Egmond confirmed today that the band has reclaimed the record for the largest single-day concert on-sale in Ticketek’s history, surpassing their own milestone set in 2009.
When tickets went on sale at staggered times around the country last week, they sold at an average rate of 1,200 per minute, with demand prompting the addition of second shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Now it’s WA’s turn. Due to huge demand the final show to be added to the POWER UP Tour will take place in PERTH on Monday, 8 December at Optus Stadium. Tickets go on sale today at 11am local time via TICKETEK.
“The demand for AC/DC’s POWER UP Tour in Australia has been extraordinary, representing the biggest ever concert on-sale day in Ticketek’s history,” said Christo Van Egmond. “This second Perth show will definitely be the final show that will be added to the Australian tour. We can confirm that absolutely no further shows will be added to the Australian leg.”

The tour shares its name with AC/DC’s 2020 album, POWER UP, which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Chart in Australia and 20 other countries around the globe. POWER UP notably notched the band’s third #1 debut on the Billboard 200 and exploded as one of the best-selling albums of 2020 worldwide. It closed out the year on Rolling Stone’s “Top 50 Albums of 2020” and Consequence of Sound’s “Top 50 Albums of 2020.” Plus, it garnered GRAMMY® Award nominations in the categories of “Best Rock Album”, “Best Rock Performance”, and “Best Music Video” for “Shot In The Dark.” POWER UP is available HERE.
In 2024, the POWER UP Tour kicked off in Europe with a staggering 1.7 million tickets sold in the first days of sales, eventually surpassing 2 million tickets sold across 24 shows. The band just concluded 10 sold-out shows in North America and has 15 additional shows scheduled across Europe before returning to Australia.
AC/DC played their very first show on the 31st December 1973 at Chequers Nightclub in Sydney, Australia. They are one of the most influential rock bands in history, with over 200 million albums sold worldwide. The band’s Back In Black LP is the “bestselling album by any band ever” and the “thirdbestselling album by any artist” with global sales of 50 million and counting. AC/DC was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® in 2003. The band continue selling out stadiums on multiple continents, sell millions of albums annually and generate streams in the billions.
To continue their reign as the world’s greatest rock and roll band, AC/DC—Angus Young on lead guitar, vocalist Brian Johnson, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug and bass player Chris Chaney—is back to play to their legion of dedicated fans around Australia, which grows with every passing year.
Australia, it’s our turn to witness the greatest rock band in the world this November and December!
