White House Down – Film Review

White House Down is unoriginal, but that does not mean it is not enjoyable. This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard about a film with a story about an attack on the White House. But with the talents of Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx, originality is irrelevant as the film thrives on the chemistry between the actors and their characters.

Channing Tatum plays John Cale, a father who works as a U.S. Capitol Police Officer assigned to protect the Speaker of the House played by Richard JenkinsJohn Cale manages to get an interview for a job in the Secret Service with Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s secret service agent character, Finnerty and arranges to take along his estranged daughter, Emily played by Joey King in order to impress her. With an attack on the White House and being in the wrong place at the wrong time, John Cale finds himself with the responsibilities of not only finding his daughter, but also protecting his president played by Jamie Foxx.

Although this film isn’t exactly unique, it is definitely fun and entertaining to watch. Especially if you are fans of Jamie Foxx, Channing Tatum and love watching things explode. White House Down may not be the best movie ever, but it is action-packed, funny, and has sexy talented actors to boot.
